POWER SCHOOL PARENTS INFORMATION

AFTER SCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAMS

A message from our Education Director

Welcome Back to Power School!

This year our Fall 2017 Program starts on Monday September 18th. Children need to be at their bus stops at 3:30 p.m. Our drivers will pick them up and have them back at school at 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The program runs Monday through Thursday each week.

The Focus of the After School Program

The first and most important task at Power School is for our students to finish their homework. We have teachers and volunteers here to give them get the guidance they need to succeed. If they do not have schoolwork, they will have lessons on English Language Skills, Math Skills, Reading Skills, or Science, and other studies.

Behavior Program a Power School

At Power School we utilize (PBIS) Positive Behavior Intervention system. All ostudents are expected to behave in ways that are SAFE, RESPECTFUL, and RESPONSIBLE. If a students has behavioral difficulties, Power School staff will work with the student. If the problem persists, we will contact family members to schedule a meeting to resolve the situation.
If you or your child has any concerns regarding Power School staff or other students, please all us so we cn work together to resolve the concern.

Food and Beverages

This fall we will promote healthy snacks at Power School. Please do not send any food or beverages to school with your children. We will provide healthy snacks when they arrive at school.

New Vans

Thanks to generous donors, we now have two new vans to transport our students. We want to keep them in good maintenance for the safety and cleanliness of our students, and school property. For this reason no food or drink is allowed in the vans.

Valuables

Power School cannot be not responsible for personal belongings brought to our school. We ask that students bring only items related to school work. If children need to have cell phones, we will keep them in the office until it is time to go home.
Please do not bring fidget spinners, toys, baseball caps, or any unnecessary items.

Commitment

Children need to be committed to attending Power School Monday through Thursday in order to receive the full academic guidance they need to succeed in this program.

Together WE can make this possible!
Thank you!
